Imagine, create and photograph!
“Look and think before opening the shutter. The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera”, Yousuf Karsh.
Professional Background:
Carmel works as Independent Photographer since 2011.
Graduated in Media Productions Film & Video (Brazil, 2006) and Photography (South Africa, 2011), Carmel has been working in the Photography industry since 2006. She worked for three years at Kromak Photo Studio, specialized for fashion catalogs, editorials and ad campaigns.
Travel is one of her favorite things in life. She first started with an exchange and volunteer work program in Canada and, since then, she hasn’t stopped. From international photography assignments in her career (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, France and Lesotho are some of the places) to personal backpacking trips for fun and to write for the brazilian-portuguese travel blog Mochila na Garupa.

Here is another testimonial, written for the Photography Diploma graduation.
“There is always an empty suitcase to be filled. And that is why Carmel has left her home town of Porto Alegre, which literally means Happy Port, to set foot in another port – the city of Durban, South Africa, to fill a whole new bag – rainbow coloured, to be more specific.
In her pocket, a degree in Media Productions: Film and Video. On her back, a backpack full from three years of experience in a photography studio, covered in flags from national and international assignments.
This new adventure has given her the opportunity to pack some new suitcases. The professional one contains all sorts of compartments, including photo shoots from model portfolios, fashion essays to events, weddings, wildlife and landscapes. The personal one has been packed with new places, culture, friends, all sorts of traveling and a journal to write for the brazilian-portuguese travel blog Mochila na Garupa.
Not only new luggage was filled up, but also old baggage was unpacked and improved with some new skills and technical enhancement – because we all know there is always a little space left in the corner.
Her involvement starts from the picture inception to its printing. From observing and looking for the right location to directing the models. From planning how everything fits into the scene to determining the technical aspects, composition and light in view to achieve outstanding results.
A permanent camera – real or imaginary – is always hanging around her neck, so that every move, place, moment and living being can turn into a perfect scene for a picture.
Carmel’s photography is a way of living and she creates her life around special moments so that every instant deserves a register, knowing a picture is never as good as experiencing the feeling personally – most of the time it can get pretty close though.”
Your work is amazing! Congratulations and good luck.
Parabéns pelo seu trabalho …sucesso , sorte e …. não desista …..
